Frequently asked questions
Is the app really free?
Yes. No in-app purchase, no subscription, no feature paywalled. If that ever changes, it will be announced clearly and the current version will keep working.
Is my data shared?
No. No ads, no third-party trackers, no resale. Your data lives locally on your device, and if you enable sync, on Google Firebase in a European region. Details: privacy policy.
Does the app calculate insulin doses?
No. Never. Bolus Famille is a tracking tool. It lets you record what you injected, but never tells you how much to inject. Treatment decisions belong to you and your care team.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings → My account → Delete my account. All your Firestore data and Firebase Auth account are erased immediately. This is permanent.
How do I export my data?
Request by email at dpo@marmites.app. You'll receive a JSON export within 30 days (GDPR right to portability).
Does the app work offline?
Yes. You can log everything without a connection. Sync to your other devices happens automatically when the network comes back.
Can multiple family members use the app?
Yes. Sign in with the same account on each parent's (or grandparent's, or carer's) iPhone. Data syncs near-realtime across all devices.
Does the app replace my paper logbook?
That's the idea — but you decide. Some care teams still prefer paper for consultations. The app can coexist with a paper logbook or any other tracking tool.
